DESCRIPTION:

Job Title:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location:

Butte, MT

Shift: 3x12 Hour Night Shifts

Employment Type:

Full-Time/Contract 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures and arterial blood gases.

• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient care.

• Administer medications safely and evaluate their effectiveness per protocol.

• Monitor patient condition and communicate status to physicians and nursing staff.

• Recommend appropriate patient care interventions based on assessments.

• Educate patients and families on self-care and respiratory therapies.

• Complete timely and accurate documentation of care and productivity.

• Maintain and manage supplies, equipment, and inventory.

• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

• Identify and address potential hazards or areas for improvement in patient care.

• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor within the respiratory care team.

• Support the profession by participating in staff development and research.

• Float to other departments within scope and competency, as needed.

• Be available for on-call shifts during regularly scheduled hours.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution

• Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Montana

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
