We're looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer - Gas Engineer Bias to join our Hard Services team at HSE Buxton, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a busy and varied site while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas and mechanical systems.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical and fabric services.
• Undertake fault finding, diagnosis and repair of gas and mechanical systems to ensure continuous service delivery.
• Respond to breakdowns and support the on-call function when required.
• Complete statutory inspections, compliance checks and maintenance activities in line with contractual requirements.
• Carry out plumbing and gas-related tasks, including repairs to toilets, showers, sinks and associated systems, while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

• Hold Gas/Plumbing trade qualifications or certifications.
• Industry exposure within Science or Research Centres.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements relating to gas and building services maintenance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Previous experience in a Gas Engineer or Building Services Engineer role within a facilities management or maintenance environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues.
• Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities and business needs.
• Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and CAFM systems.
