Multi Skilled Engineer - Gas Engineer Bias

We're looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer - Gas Engineer Bias to join our Hard Services team at HSE Buxton, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a busy and varied site while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas and mechanical systems.
RoleResponsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical and fabric services.
- Undertake fault finding, diagnosis and repair of gas and mechanical systems to ensure continuous service delivery.
- Respond to breakdowns and support the on-call function when required.
- Complete statutory inspections, compliance checks and maintenance activities in line with contractual requirements.
- Carry out plumbing and gas-related tasks, including repairs to toilets, showers, sinks and associated systems, while maintaining high health and safety standards.
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
- Hold Gas/Plumbing trade qualifications or certifications.
- Industry exposure within Science or Research Centres.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements relating to gas and building services maintenance.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience in a Gas Engineer or Building Services Engineer role within a facilities management or maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues.
- Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities and business needs.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and CAFM systems.
