Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Buxton, Maine. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, and keeping financial data organized and up to date. The role requires hands-on experience with Quick Books and a strong understanding of payables, receivables, and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

- Record financial transactions accurately in Quick Books and maintain organized bookkeeping documentation

- Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and monitor accounts payable activity to ensure timely completion

- Prepare and issue customer invoices while tracking incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances

- Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies

- Maintain current and accurate account balances by reviewing entries and updating records regularly

- Support routine financial reporting by compiling bookkeeping data and verifying transaction details Requirements - Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused setting

- Hands-on proficiency with Quick Books for daily accounting and recordkeeping tasks

- Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

- Experience completing bank reconciliations with strong attention to accuracy

- Ability to manage financial records with a high level of organization and confidentiality

- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle recurring deadlines consistently
