Position: Insurance Agent (Base salary + Uncapped commissions)

Insurance Agent (Base salary + Uncapped commissions)

Comparion Insurance Agency is seeking a full‑time Insurance Agent to work in South Portland, ME. The role is not remote and requires building a local network and in‑person relationships within the community.

Compensation
  • Base salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year
  • Typical first‑year total compensation: $55k – $75k (base + bonuses + uncapped commissions)
  • Top performers may earn over $100k in the first year
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects through local community engagement
  • Qualify prospects and close sales of auto, home, life, and other insurance products
  • Maintain client relationships, ensuring service and support throughout policy lifecycle
  • Attend in‑office meetings and training sessions, and manage administrative tasks
Qualifications
  • Prior sales experience with a proven track record of turning prospects into customers
  • State insurance license in Property & Casualty and Life, or willingness to obtain one with training
  • Effective written and oral communication, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with people in community
  • Strong time‑management, organization, and self‑motivation
  • High adaptability, resilience, and willingness to learn insurance coverage and underwriting guidelines
