Build Specialized Utility Equipment
Join our Cabot fabrication team and help build and customize utility equipment used by electric utility crews across the country.
As a Welder Fabricator
, you will work alongside experienced fabricators and upfit technicians to
modify and install components
on utility vehicles and tracked aerial equipment, such as
Terex Hi-Ranger bucket trucks and specialty utility equipment.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Thursday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (4 10 hour shifts)
- Friday overtime is available as needed
What You'll Do
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding on steel and aluminum components.
- Cut, bend, punch, shape, fabricate, and weld metal parts and assemblies.
- Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and fabrication specifications.
- Build and install brackets, bumpers, subframes, outriggers, and other custom components.
- Select and utilize proper materials, tools, and equipment to complete fabrication projects.
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Work closely with fabrication, assembly, and production teams to meet build schedules.
- Follow all company operational procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous welding and fabrication experience required.
- Ability to pass a welding certification test.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Flux-Core welding preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Working Conditions
- The job is performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling throughout a 8-10-12 hour day.
