Maintenance Supervisor – Hutchinson
The Maintenance Supervisor plans and coordinates maintenance activities to ensure equipment and installations perform at the highest level. Provides daily, hands‑on management and supervision of mechanics, electricians, automation, and utility personnel. Responsible for ensuring all safety policies and department practices are followed. Coordinates and communicates with production personnel to ensure safety issues, machine repairs, and PM work are completed as required.

Responsibilities- Supervision of maintenance personnel and coordination of maintenance work schedules and shift coverage to meet site requirements.
- Tracking of maintenance metrics; including downtime and effectiveness.
- Management of preventive, predictive, and project maintenance activities.
- Management of CMMS work order schedule, assignments, and backlog by maintenance personnel.
- Coordination and communication of maintenance activities with production, quality, and shipping departments.
- Training and evaluation of maintenance personnel to meet current and future needs.
- Demonstration and assurance of safe work practices by maintenance personnel.
- Travel periodically between sites for training and assistance.
- Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.

QualificationsThe employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff, outside contractors, vendors, suppliers, and personnel from other company departments. The employee must be capable of supervising, directing, and training maintenance personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Employee must understand the role and function of the maintenance organization in a manufacturing environment.
Education & ExperienceThe employee will have an engineering/technical degree, recognized technical expertise (licensed journeyman or master), or equivalent technical background. The employee must have a minimum of 5 years experience working in industrial maintenance or engineering. Employee will have technical experience in mechanical systems, electrical systems, fluid power (pneumatic and hydraulic), and industrial controls.
Mathematical SkillsBasic math and problem‑solving skills required for measurement, scheduling, and tracking metrics.
Computer SkillsMust have good computer skills with a working knowledge of email, MS Excel, MS Word, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Reasoning AbilityThe employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action. The employee must be able to implement necessary solutions with little or no direct supervision adhering to company policies and practices.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsHilo (fork truck) operator's license. Scissor lift operator's license. First Responder and bloodborn pathogen certification.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; walk; bend; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; work with a computer; and regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, to climb, and to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
WorkEnvironment
The employee will work regularly between an office, a maintenance shop, and a manufacturing environment where the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required including safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes with metatarsal guards, and hearing protection. The employee may also be required to use a face shield, protective gloves and sleeves, fall protection harness, and hard hat depending upon assigned work tasks.
