The Home Depot is seeking a Cashier to provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers. The role processes Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitors the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers proactively seek product knowledge to answer customer questions and identify selling opportunities, and follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide customers with information about products and assist with selling opportunities through proactive product knowledge.
• Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop other Cashiers.
• Support the Lead/Head Cashier by expediting price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services and Tool Rental as applicable.
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues.

• Preferred: 1+ year of Cashier experience.
