Duties Include:As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and provide assistance to children with their educational and social development, both in and outside the classroom.
The role will include:- Supporting learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills
- Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Providing assistance with toileting
- Supporting pupils with numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
- Supporting learners across a range of areas within the classroom
- Understanding safeguarding and behaviour policies and their role within these policies
- Promoting Welsh culture
- Working with children aged 3–6 years
- Supporting the teacher in a variety of classroom roles
- Maintaining a professional manner at all times when working within a school setting
- Must be fluent in Welsh
- A willingness to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant
- Enthusiasm for working with children
- Possess relevant qualities, including patience and good communication skills
- Ability to remain professional at all times
- Ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff
- Previous experience of working with children
- Any previous experience supporting children with special educational needs
- Strong Welsh, English and Mathematics skills
- Effective communication skills when working with both children and adults
- Competent numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
- Ability to self-manage and organise your own time

The apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning with off-the-job training, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.
