Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 2

Location: Caerphilly

Salary: Minimum £92.59 per day

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a new Special Needs Resource Base (SNRB) within a mainstream school. This is a position starting in June 2026, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of establishing the SNRB for learners with social communication needs from September 2026. The role provides a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while working within a supportive and dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with social communication needs within a class of no more than 8 learners.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and a team of three additional staff to deliver tailored learning programmes.
  • Foster positive, supportive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and outside agencies.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive environment that promotes the development of social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Support the integration of learners with complex needs into the school community.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of supporting learners with complex needs or experience working in an SNRB is advantageous.
  • Passionate about supporting the development and inclusion of young people.
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting learners with diverse needs.
