Location: Caerphilly CF81

Hours: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday-Friday, 08:30 - 15:00

Pay: £100 per day via PAYE weekly pay

Start Date: 7th of September 2026

We're looking for dedicated and nurturing individuals to support students with additional learning needs in a welcoming secondary school setting. You’ll be joining a lively, inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly that is committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, both in and out of the classroom. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop confidence, independence, and resilience.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional learning needs
• Adapt activities and explanations to meet individual learning styles and abilities
• Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social development
• Encourage engagement, independence, and participation in lessons
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies
• Promote a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where students feel supported and understood
• Celebrate progress and achievements, helping every student reach their potential

• Patient, empathetic, and genuinely committed to supporting young people
• Calm under pressure and able to respond positively to challenging situations
• An excellent communicator with strong relationship‑building skills
• Flexible, proactive, and adaptable to the changing needs of students
• Experienced in (or eager to gain experience in) SEN support, care work, youth work, coaching, or educational settings
• Passionate about inclusion and making a meaningful difference in students’ lives
• DBS‑checked (or happy to apply)
