SRB Teaching Assistant - Early Years | Caerphilly
Academics are currently recruiting an experienced SRB Teaching Assistant to support Early Years pupils within a primary school in Caerphilly. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young children and is confident supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
The RoleAs an SRB Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting Early Years pupils within a specialist resource base, helping them access learning and develop their confidence, communication and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:- Supporting Early Years pupils with their learning, development and daily routines
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
- Working alongside the class teacher and wider school team
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a nurturing environment
- Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence
- Supporting play-based and sensory activities
- Helping pupils develop their confidence and engagement
- Supporting personal care and intimate care where required
- Following individual pupil support plans and school procedures
- Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive environment
- Following safeguarding procedures at all times
- Previous experience working with Early Years children
- Experience working with pupils with ALN/SEN is highly desirable
- Previous experience within an SRB, specialist provision or primary school would be advantageous
- A patient, caring and nurturing approach
- The ability to build strong relationships with young children
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Someone who is reliable, proactive and enthusiastic
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS - essential
- EWC registration - essential
- Previous experience working with children
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
