Teacher Active is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Caerphilly that has a specialist provision dedicated to supporting students with Additional Learning Needs / ALN. The school is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and individual abilities.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated ALN Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful ALN Learning Support Assistant will work within the specialist provision, supporting secondary-aged students with a range of additional learning needs through tailored learning activities, classroom support and positive behaviour management.

The successful ALN Learning Support Assistant will have:

A relevant Teaching Assistant or ALN qualification is desirable

Experience supporting children or young people with Additional Learning Needs / ALN

Experience working with secondary-aged students

An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting students
