Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer

Caerphilly

44,000

Days and Nights (no weekends)

Yolk Recruitment is actively working with a well‑established specialist manufacturer based in Caerphilly. The business is entering an exciting phase of growth, with continued investment across the site, now looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer.

A continental shift pattern during the working week is on offer, giving you more time off without sacrificing earning potential – ideal if you're looking for a better work‑life balance without compromising on career progression.

As a Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer, this is what you'll be doing:

You will be part of a highly experienced engineering team, working a days & nights rotation supporting a fast‑paced production environment with a range of specialist machinery.

  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical plant and equipment in line with schedules and specifications to maximise reliability and minimise downtime, including fault finding and reactive repairs.
  • Identifying recurring mechanical issues and implementing long‑term fixes through root cause analysis.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Ensuring all tools and maintenance equipment are in good condition and fit for purpose.
  • Supporting and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
The experience you will bring to the team:
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A time‑served, apprentice‑trained engineer with a strong mechanical background is essential.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic electrical fault‑finding skills would be advantageous, but the role is mechanically focused.
And this is what you'll get in return:

Alongside a competitive salary of 44,000, you'll benefit from a strong overall package. You will be joining a secure, growing business that is actively investing in both its facilities and workforce, with genuine opportunities for progression and development.
