Head of Finance

The job will be very much a hands-on role in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution business and will report directly to the Managing Director. The ideal candidate will be motivated to improve the company’s financial systems to enable tracking of key performance metrics, to drive efficiencies as well as forecasting and supporting the future growth.

Job specification

The candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business and work closely with all Departments. The role will involve liaising with both customers and suppliers, as well as coordinating within the various internal departments. The candidate will need to have a friendly, flexible and personable approach as well as being well-organised and highly motivated.

The successful candidate will produce accurate and meaningful monthly management accounts together with statutory papers whilst liaising with Company Auditors

The fast-growing nature of the business means that the candidate should be capable of working under pressure with good attention to detail.

The Head of Finance will also be responsible for managing a small finance team.

Candidate profile

The candidate should have a recognised accounting qualification and at least 6 years practical industry experience in an SME with a distribution or process environment.
