HousekeeperHousekeepers are responsible for providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team in office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. They ensure a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.
You will need to be passionate, enthusiastic about patient care, and able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be involved in a multi‑professional team and create a culture of continuous improvement.
Right to work in the UK is required. The Trust does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the jobWe require a friendly, positive, organized and motivated individual to work as a Housekeeper within the Trust’s Hotel Services Team.
Hours:
15 hours per week, based at Huntington House, shifts between 7am–8pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility for short‑notice or extra hours is required.
Experience in cleaning duties, use of chemicals and equipment, and catering/food service is essential. Experience or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is essential. Ability to provide a positive approach when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust is required.
Candidates must possess a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or be working towards successful completion. Numeracy, Literacy and IT level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 –
4) is essential. NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping is desirable. Commitment to further training and qualifications is expected.

Person Specification Qualifications- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (to be completed within 12 months)
- Numeracy and Literacy to level 2
- NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping (within agreed timescale)
- Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
- Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health or learning disabilities environment
- Experience cleaning in a hospital environment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
- Knowledge of National Standard of Cleanliness (within agreed timescale)
- Knowledge of deep‑cleaning procedures
- Knowledge of Patient‑Lead Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE) (within agreed timescale)
- Good understanding of confidentiality
- Able to follow protocols and instructions
- Able to demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail in all tasks
- Safe, efficient and effective techniques in cleaning, deep cleaning, use of motorised cleaning equipment, kitchen equipment, food preparation and serving, regeneration ovens, washing and ironing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Time management and ability to prioritise effectively
- Breakaway techniques (within agreed timescale)
