Working Hours:

To work on two-week full time rolling rota on 12 hours shift, which includes a full day training every six weeks. Night hours are (8.00pm – 8.00am) working an average of 43.1 hours per week.

About the Position

The night senior care support worker will work alongside the night team leader, to support and monitor care support workers within the home, the school and whilst undertaking offsite activities to ensure that they carry out their duties in an effective manner in order to safeguard that a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our children and young people first is maintained.

The job also involves supporting and overseeing that our children physical, cultural, social and emotional development, using a person-centred approach in order that they can achieve their full potential is maintained at all times.

Essential Criteria for the Senior Role Includes:
  • Must already hold at least level 3 NVQ or QCF for Children’s and Young People’s workforce in Health & Social Care.
  • Must have an excellent understanding and experience working with children and young people with learning disability, autism and other complex care needs.
  • Previous experience as a senior care support worker.
  • Effective communication and motivation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and supervising skills.
  • Ability to work as directed and complete tasks to high standards.
  • Must be enthusiastic, confident and resilient also be able to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Medication administration trained and experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted requirement.
  • Excellent working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and how to follow it.
  • Able to act in a professional manner at all times ensuring professional boundaries are maintained.
