Relief cleaning operative roles in the Neighbourhood and Environmental Services Directorate at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, covering establishments across the borough. Work involves cleaning designated areas to a set standard using chemicals, equipment and machinery, then cleaning and storing that kit and placing orders for replacements. The posts are relief cover, with candidates expected to work as part of a team and to take any training judged necessary.
An enhanced DBS check including the child barred list is required before appointment.
- Clean designated areas to a set standard using chemicals, equipment and machinery
- Maintain cupboard, equipment and machinery by cleaning them and storing them correctly after use
- Place orders for replacement chemicals and equipment when required
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to use own initiative
- Willingness to undertake any training considered necessary
- Enhanced DBS check with Child Barred List, as the post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
- COSHH knowledge
- Basic health and safety knowledge
- Relevant experience
