The Role

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the customer base within your assigned territory. You will combine commercial activities with product and application knowledge, actively working towards achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieving sales of NBS Scientific products and solutions in line with the annual sales plan
  • Manage and develop existing and prospective customers (including universities, NHS hospitals, pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories)
  • Maintain and increase face-to-face customer interactions through effective territory planning and appointment management
  • Provide product, user and application support to customers
  • Monitor market developments, customer needs and competitor activity
  • Gather customer feedback to proactively contribute to product improvements and new product development
  • Ensure timely delivery of product samples and quotations
  • Attend and support exhibitions and industry events when required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records
  • Report on sales pipeline and performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
Job requirements
  • A BSc degree in a Life Science discipline such as Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical or Medical Science (or similar)
  • 2–5 years of sales experience within the life sciences market, preferably in consumables
  • Proven experience working to sales targets and managing your time effectively
  • Experience in or affinity with laboratory environments (laboratory experience is an advantage)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information
  • A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven attitude
  • Good awareness of the laboratory marketplace, including market trends and competitor activity
  • A full and clean UK driving license (essential)
  • Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
