Project Worker

Summary

A full-time Project Workforce to join our Supported accommodation service in Caerphilly where you will support vulnerable people experiencing homelessness. You will be required to work days and have weekend availability.

Tŷ Croeso is a 10-bed supported accommodation that provides support to homeless individuals aged 18 and over. You will be working with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and complex needs. Every day is different, you’ll be learning new skills and have opportunity to work with a variety of agencies. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment.

Your role would be working alongside the project workers promoting tenancy management skills to our clients and providing any other housing related support they may require.

• Take the lead on each shift, overseeing the day-to-day running of the scheme and providing guidance and support to Scheme Support Officers.
• Build positive, professional relationships with the people we support, encouraging engagement and independence.
• Work alongside individuals to develop and review personalised support plans that help them achieve their goals.
• Deliver engaging workshops on topics such as tenancy management, budgeting, health, wellbeing, and independent living skills.
• Liaise with external agencies and partner organisations to ensure people receive the right support at the right time.
• Respond to a range of support needs, providing practical and emotional support tailored to each individual.
• Help create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where people can develop the skills and confidence needed to maintain their tenancies and move forward positively.

• Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential
• Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
• Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
• Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
• Deal with difficult situations
• Have good listening skills
• Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
