Role Overview In this role, you will be a Scala engineer in a cross-functional development team. In the first year, you will help adapt the architecture of our systems to support strong customer growth. Over time, you will become the go-to person within the team for backend development, proactively learning new technologies and delivering high-quality code while keeping technical debt under control.

You will help build a great product that customers love and contribute to an environment that enables others to do their best work. You should be pragmatic, collaborative, and focused on simplicity and effectiveness, with a bias for action and a willingness to learn from mistakes.

Requirements

At least 2 years of commercial software engineering experience; a BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science (higher degree is nice to have but not essential)
Scala experience is highly preferred; strong transferable skills (e.g., Java 8+, Kotlin) are acceptable

Typescript experience is a plus

Experience with microservices architectures, event streaming systems, and cloud providers;
Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS knowledge are a plus

Good understanding of agile methodologies (Kanban/Lean), their principles and ceremonies

Experience with Git and code reviews

Familiar with CI/CD concepts and tools like Git Lab CIFocused on testing and attention to detail

Experience in fintech or wealth management is a plus Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken);
Italian is a plus Level & Compensation We apply CCNL Credito and assign the title of Software Engineer II based on the candidate’s experience and skills. Salary range for this role is €38,000 to €48,000 gross per year, plus bonus.
