The PACU at Mercy STL is a vital phase one recovery area for patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring general anesthesia. Here’s what you can expect:

• Care for a diverse range of patients, from Med Surg to ICU critical cases.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and various surgical specialties, including Genitourinary, ENT, General Surgery, Pediatric, GYN, and Bariatric.
• Utilize your skills in managing vented patients, vasoactive drips, airway management, and more.
• Participate in a self-covered unit with CALL requirements for weekends and holidays.

As a PACU RN, you will:

• Utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other team members.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform duties in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Required
  
  Education:
  
  Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• Preferred Education: BSN
• Preferred Experience: Critical care or Emergency Department RN experience is strongly preferred
• License: Current RN license in our state
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
