Irrigation Drip Checker

The Irrigation Drip Checker is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the drip irrigation system throughout the Georgia Nursery to ensure every plant receives the correct, consistent water supply it needs to thrive. This craftsman walks the fields daily, checking emitters, tubing, valves, and connections for clogs, leaks, or damage, and makes repairs or flags issues for the Irrigation Coach as needed.

This role works closely with the Irrigation Coach and fellow Craftsmen in production to keep water use efficient and plant health on track, directly supporting Monrovia's commitment to growing plants of exceptional quality. Occasionally the Irrigation Drip Checker will assist with broader field maintenance tasks, such as weeding, moving plants, or supporting irrigation system installs, during peak season.

• Walk assigned field blocks daily to inspect drip lines, emitters, and connections for proper function
• Work with Craftsmen in a collaborative, rewarding, and quality-focused environment
• Identify and repair clogged emitters, leaks, broken tubing, and damaged fittings
• Learn how Monrovia's irrigation systems support consistent, high-quality plant growth
• Help fine-tune water delivery across the nursery to protect plant health and conserve water

• Ability to identify irrigation system problems such as clogs, leaks, and pressure issues by sight and by hand
• Comfortable using basic hand tools to repair or replace drip line components
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking large field areas thoroughly
• Ability to walk long distances outdoors for extended periods, including on uneven ground
• Basic understanding of how irrigation timing and volume affect plant health, or willingness to learn
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained on daily routes
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to report issues clearly to the Irrigation Coach
• Self-motivated and proactive with a can-do attitude and commitment to excellence

• Prior experience in agriculture, nursery, landscaping, or irrigation work preferred but not required
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
• Willingness to learn Monrovia's irrigation standards and field layout
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain simple maintenance logs
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
