Lead Electrical Engineering Excellence in Critical Water Technology Projects

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Team Leader to lead and develop a team of talented Electrical Engineers and Designers, supporting the delivery of innovative water treatment and technology solutions across a diverse range of industrial and municipal projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong electrical engineer who enjoys combining hands-on engineering expertise with team leadership, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement. You'll play a key role in shaping electrical design strategy, driving engineering best practice, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex engineered systems from proposal through to commissioning.

As Electrical Engineering Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of 4-6 Electrical Engineers and Designers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, resource planning and workload prioritisation for the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, contract documentation and industry standards, translating requirements into compliant engineering solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation and quality of electrical design deliverables, ensuring designs meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership across electrical equipment selection, specifications and procurement activities, including control panels, MCCs and transformer rectifiers.
  • Support proposal and project teams by providing technical guidance, reviewing scope documents and contributing to client-facing discussions.
  • Review and approve key engineering documentation, including:
  • Control Philosophies
  • Functional Design Specifications
  • Cause & Effect Charts
  • Logic Diagrams
  • Equipment Specifications
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure process, control and electrical aspects are effectively coordinated.
  • Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), acting as a technical representative for customers when required.
  • Drive quality assurance, document control and continuous improvement activities across the engineering function.
  • Ensure safe design principles embedded throughout all projects, incorporating Human Factors Engineering and ergonomic considerations.

We're seeking a motivated engineering leader with a strong technical background and a passion for developing people.

Essential
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical design engineering within an industrial, process, manufacturing or engineered systems environment.
  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, equipment specification and technical review processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation, specifications and engineering standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational and project prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
  • Experience with in water treatment, water technologies or process industries.
  • Knowledge of electrochlorination systems.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Familiarity with ATEX, IECEx and HAZOP methodologies.
  • Experience working to major petrochemical specifications such as BP or Shell standards.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, installation and commissioning processes.
