Position:
Fabricator
Salary: £37440 to £41600
Working 0700 – 1600 (Monday-Thursday) and 0700 – 1300 (Friday) 40 hour working week
Overtime: available at 1.5x

We are now seeking to recruit a Fabricator to join Fabrication workshop based in Caldicot. It’s a permanent fabrication work that would require the right candidate to se a variety of fabrication techniques, hand tools, and machinery to produce high-quality products while maintaining safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Measure, mark out, cut, bend, and shape metal materials to required dimensions.
- Assemble fabricated components using welding, bolting, riveting, and other fastening methods.
- Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, presses, drills, grinders, saws, and bending machines.
- Carry out MIG, TIG, or MMA welding where required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometres, verniers, and gauges.
- Perform finishing operations including grinding, deburring, and polishing.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Report material shortages, equipment faults, and quality issues to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with welders, engineers, and production teams to meet production deadlines.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or metalworking environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.
- Previous fabrication experience.
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, MMA).
- Forklift, overhead crane, or lifting equipment experience
