Practice Nurse - Gray Hill Surgery

We are looking for a motivated practice nurse to provide safe, high quality primary care nursing services to the practice population. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover maternity with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Practice independently in accordance with RCN code of conduct.

Undertake patient nursing services including:

Vaccinations and immunisations

Smears

Travel Clinic

Health education

Manage patient samples, swabs and specimens

Stock taking and ordering

Venepuncture

ECGs

A well organised, friendly GP training practice with 20,000 patients. The practice has 10 GPs, an ANP, minor illness and chronic disease team who are supported by a large administration and reception team.

We are situated in Caldicot, with a branch surgery in Magor, South Monmouthshire. Easily commutable from Bristol, Cardiff and surrounding areas.

Informal visits to the practice from prospective candidates are welcome and interested parties should contact us for further information.

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by a RGN and any additional roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.

• All levels of experience will be considered
• Experience of wound management and practice nursing

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
