Extension Faculty - 4-H Area Extension Educator, Southern District

Position Summary: The UI Extension 4-H Youth Development unit seeks a faculty member to lead district-wide 4-H science, healthy living or citizenship programs. The role includes program leadership, district-wide technical support, state-wide leadership, training of volunteers and staff using positive youth development principles, expanding partnerships, producing scholarly or creative products, and participating on university, college and community committees.
Roles & Allocation: Outreach & Extension 80 %, Scholarship & Creative 15 %, University Service & Leadership 5 %, Teaching & Advising 0 %.
Minimum Education/Degree: Master’s degree in child development, adult development, education, or a closely related field.
Required experience:
4+ years with 4-H programs, volunteer training, and leadership as well as expertise in 4-H science, healthy living, or citizenship and public presentation.
- Four or more years working with 4‑H, conducting programs, training volunteers, and providing leadership.
- Experience in subject‑matter fields of 4‑H science, healthy living, or citizenship.
- Strong presentation skills across varied audiences.
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective team communication via technology and in‑person.
- Ability to coordinate, plan and implement eventsтипақ workshops, and training programs for school‑age children.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Grant and budget management experience.
- Conflict management skills.
- Networking Цент volunteer organizations and industry stakeholders.
- Developing and aanwijτα evaluating program procedures and policies, technical manuals or concise reports.
- Providing technical program assistance to staff and volunteers.
Physical Requirements &
Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; willing to travel statewide; valid Oleh license.
- Ability to lift or move up to 35 lbs.
