Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive, cross-government environmental policies and regulations through active coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders.

  • Analyze existing government strategies, policies, plans, regulations, and initiatives to ensure environmental perspectives are incorporated where necessary.

  • Collaborate with the Environmental Analysis and Economics Division to integrate outcomes from multi-criteria policy analyses into broad, government-wide environmental policy recommendations.

  • Lead internal and external stakeholder consultations to support the formulation of aligned and cohesive environmental policies and regulatory frameworks.

  • Facilitate meetings and dialogue with stakeholders and decision-makers to address concerns, foster support, and incorporate feedback into policy development.

  • Prepare position papers that accurately represent the organization’s stance on various environmental matters, contributing to sound policy direction.

  • Assist in drafting inputs and recommendations for leadership regarding environmental policy matters and review of national government strategies and plans.

  • Produce detailed technical reports and presentations under the guidance of the Section Manager – Environment Policy & Regulations, documenting progress, findings, and proposals.

  • Coordinate with relevant sectors such as Environmental Quality and Terrestrial & Marine Biodiversity to align policies and regulatory efforts.

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.

  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and ensure timely reporting of any hazards or incidents in compliance with applicable OHS procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the environmental field, including at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.
