Description
The Night Manager - Float Team plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the nightly operations of cleaning teams at Howard Building Maintenance. This hands-on leadership position ensures high-quality cleaning, adherence to schedules, and a safe working environment. Managing a team of 8-12 cleaning professionals, the Night Float Team Manager is responsible for training and motivating employees to perform at their best while addressing operational challenges in real time.
The role operates in a dynamic and mobile environment, starting and ending each shift at the Caldwell office. At the beginning of the shift, the manager picks up a company-provided vehicle and travels to various job sites across the Treasure Valley, including offices, warehouses, and industrial facilities. At each location, the manager oversees cleaning teams, conducts inspections, ensures quality standards, provides training, and resolves operational issues.
Adaptability is crucial, as job sites vary in size, layout, and cleaning requirements. While on-site, the manager may encounter cleaning chemicals, moderate noise, and physical activity. At the end of the shift, the manager returns the vehicle to the Caldwell office and completes any necessary administrative duties, ensuring a seamless and efficient end to the day’s operations.

Key Responsibilities- Team Management: Oversee and manage a team of 8-12 cleaning staff across multiple sites, ensuring team members adhere to performance standards and safety protocols.
- Training and Development: Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols. Then conducting ongoing performance reviews and provide coaching as necessary.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Create and maintain schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times, which will require coordinating float staff assignments to fill gaps in staffing as needed.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor and report on daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed on time. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Use company software and tools to document performance, attendance, and incidents. we use the following programs:
Swept Cleaner, Paylocity, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with cleaning staff, clients, and management.

Salary$46,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience

- At least 2 years of experience in the cleaning or maintenance industry
- 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience
- Physically capable of performing cleaning duties if needed, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments with cleaning chemicals, moderate noise, and varied site conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Caldwell office.
- A working cellphone for real-time communication.
- Fluency in Spanish to communicate effectively with bilingual team members.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Power Apps, Swept Works, and Paylocity.
