Overview
The Findlay Family Group of businesses has been in operation for over 100 years, and is currently in its fourth generation of family management with the fifth oncoming. Originally a local bread bakery, we grew into the largest plant bread producer on the East Coast of New Zealand. In the 1990's we further developed into manufacturing Panko bread crumbs, Conventional Breadcrumbs and Batter coating systems.
Two Powder Blending sites were built in Idaho USA to provide Batter Coating solutions primarily to produce specialist coatings for French fries. Findlay Food Coatings Ltd was established in 2013 to operate in the USA. Findlay is a Family owned international company with a reputation for innovation, thinking outside of the box and delivering what it says it will. Our head office is located at the edge of the world in Gisborne, New Zealand.
The position of Plant Operator is shift work (Night) and could require some overtime. You will be required to, but not limited to, do the following activities:
Responsibilities- Lift up to 55 lb. bags, boxes or containers of ingredients to be used in the blending process.
- Accurately add ingredients to the process.
- Use scanners for delivery of ingredients and inventory control.
- Climb up and down stairs.
- Kneel, stand, walk and lift to complete your duties throughout the shift.
- Clean a facility where we are using fine powders.
- Drive lift truck and possibly scissor lift (we will provide training and certification).
- Ensure products adhere to the Final Specifications.
- Provide maintenance with concise information to assist in breakdowns.
- Have effective communication with Senior Managers.
- Ensure safe practices are observed by yourself and to lead others if bad practice is observed.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice is followed and to lead others if bad practice is observed.
- Job Type: Full-time - 60 working day probationary period.
- Graveyard shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.
- Dayshift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
- Pay:
From $21.53 per hour; $2.00 increase for Graveyard Shift.
