Restaurant Manager, Server/Wait Staff
Position Summary
Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal and external service, build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
KeyDuties / Responsibilities
- Internal Service:
Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees; monitors staffing levels; ensures training systems are implemented; identifies and develops internal candidates for management; creates a friendly, fun, clean, and safe restaurant environment; motivates employees to achieve high performance. - External Service:
Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence; ensures guests receive an exceptional experience through proper training and accountability; monitors adherence to all JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements; resolves guest concerns promptly; maintains brand image and cleanliness. - Higher Profits:
Partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance; identifies trends and implements action plans; protects the JIB brand; monitors costs and adherence to budget and restaurant goals. - Other duties:
Performs related tasks and responsibilities as required and assigned.

Harbors strong ethical standards, demonstrates pro‑active communication, and performs other related duties as required.
Education – High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience – Minimum 1+ year as a Shift Leader or 1 year as an Assistant Manager with full work‑station certification (internal promote); or minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility (external recruit).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities – At least 18 years old; completed Assistant Manager training;
Serv Safe certified; fluent in English; strong interpersonal, basic math, analytical, and organizational skills; proficient with computers; valid driver’s license with insurance; willingness to use personal vehicle for business travel; integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements – Ability to stand and walk 85‑95% of shifts; lift 10‑65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate equipment; use a computer keyboard; drive a motor vehicle as needed.
