The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opening for an Entry-Level Deputy Sheriff-Detention. This role serves a critical function within our organization, being directly responsible for the supervision, security, and control of inmates in our detention facility.

Job Responsibilities:

* Supervise inmates in living quarters and instruct them in proper housekeeping and sanitation.

* Maintain the security of the facility, ensuring rules, regulations and procedures are adhered to.

* Prepare written reports on inmate behavior and activities.

* Conduct head counts, security checks and inspections.

* Respond to emergencies and collaboratively work with other law enforcement officials.

Desired

Qualifications:

* A High School diploma or equivalent.

* Must be at least 21 years of age.

* Valid state driver's license.

* Ability to pass a detailed background check and a physical fitness examination.

* Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

* Previous experience or training in corrections, law enforcement or a related field.

* Certification in First Aid and CPR.

* Skills in conflict resolution and crisis management.

* Experience using computer and information systems.

* Ability to speak a second language fluently.
