High Bay Freezer E&I Technician - Caldwell,

Overview

The High‑Bay Freezer (HBF) E&I Technician ensures efficient operation of all electrical and process control instrumentation within the high‑bay freezer and warehouse area, including mechanical and general facility maintenance, lubrication, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of employees, visitors and contractors, prioritizing the safe condition of equipment and facilities in accordance with SOPs and Company policies.
  • Install, operate and maintain high reliability central process control equipment and instrumentation (programmable controllers, motor controllers, wiring).
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform skilled duties including painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, drywall and other crafts to maintain and repair plant facilities.
  • Maintain equipment such as batteries, forklifts, chargers, pumps, motors, doors, dock levelers, hydraulic systems and transport systems.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment (motors, gearboxes, vales, hydraulic systems, couplers, alignment systems, weighing systems).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and facilities per Company and manufacturer standards.
  • Manage shop inventories, tools and equipment; create, complete and track work orders.
  • Identify and source parts, conduct inventory searches.
  • Document, monitor and report shift events; log predictive maintenance data.
  • Communicate with team members and support groups; maintain a participative management style.
  • Assist in training other plant personnel.
  • Coordinate or schedule work as required.
  • Handle additional accountabilities as directed by management.
  • Supply own tools of the trade.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent lifting, standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping and crawling on hard surfaces.
  • Occasional sitting while operating a forklift.
  • Frequent use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Work from heights using fall protection; equipment designed for workers weighing up to 350 lbs.
  • Climb up to 12 flights of stairs within the High‑Bay Freezer.
  • Lift up to 70 lbs.
Work Environment
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Work in high, precarious places and frequent exposure to freezing temperatures.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Work in enclosed, tight spaces.
Language Skills
  • Read and understand schematics, technical drawings and manuals.
  • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
  • Write correspondences and effectively communicate information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
Required Certifications
  • Idaho Journeyman Electrician License (Reciprocal licenses accepted).
  • Annual Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) certification for low‑oxygen freezer environment.
  • Annual Authorized Fall Protection Certification.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Forklift Certification.
Relevant Experience
  • At least two years of industrial mechanical experience.
  • At least six months of forklift operating experience.
  • Good knowledge of computer systems and technology.
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Other Requirements

Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.

Shift

Monday – Friday; rotating on‑call weekend with maintenance team.

Pay

$45.91 per hour.
