We are seeking driven, hard‑working individuals who want to build a career with a purpose. The Lineman Apprenticeship program is available for eligible employees. The role starts as a Pre‑apprentice and advances to a Journeyman’s License.
General Lineman Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems
- String wire conductors and cables
- Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical stress
- Climb poles or use truck‑mounted buckets to access equipment
- Place insulating or fire‑proofing materials over conductors and joints
- Identify defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical‑testing instruments
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions
- Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work
- Adhere to safety practices and procedures
- Excavate and drill holes
- Erect and maintain structures
- Right‑of‑way clearing and reclamation
- Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Inspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment
- Operate machinery such as track hoes, backhoes, digger derricks, lo‑drill, air drill, forklift, cranes, skid steers, line pullers, or line tensioners
– What You’ll Bring
- Valid CDL and Medical Card (no exceptions)
- Ability to travel throughout the United States (position requires full‑time travel)
- Graduated from an accredited line school or have equivalent verifiable experience
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in all types of weather, and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Pass pre‑employment and other drug screening requirements
- Heavy equipment operator experience
- Crane certification
