Oxford Learning Caledonia is currently seeking part-time teacher‑tutors. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position RequirementsAll Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours on certain days Monday – Thursday (4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) and some Saturdays (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and reliability is a must.
This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education- Post‑secondary student (current) or Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or similar certification in a relevant field
- Third and Fourth‑year college or university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, and/or physics, chemistry, and biology
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching in‑person
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post‑lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Part‑time
Salary$18 – $22 per hour
Schedule- Evenings
- Monday to Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., 1–3 hours per shift
- Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., 1–3 hours per shift
