High School Science & Math Instructional Coaches

Oxford Learning Caledonia is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to support students in Grades 9‑12 science and math. This full‑time teaching role focuses on interactive coaching in a formal learning centre. The position is open for part‑time hours, Monday‑Thursday evenings, and some Saturdays.

Position Requirements

Teacher‑tutors must be available during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (1‑3 hours per shift)
  • Saturday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (1‑3 hours per shift)

Applicants must reside in or be within a short commute of Caledonia, ON. All appointments are in‑person, and a reliable presence is required. Vulnerable‑sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Post‑secondary student (current) or bachelor’s degree, diploma, or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Third and fourth‑year college or university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at the Grade 9‑12 level
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding

    Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to three students simultaneously at different skill levels
  • Deliver in‑person instruction following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
