Job Description

Summary:

The Electrical Superintendent will supervise electrical projects on a utility‑scale solar site in Yerington, NV, ensuring timely, cost‑effective completion and compliance with safety, quality and design standards. The role is full‑time on‑site with required travel.

Position Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform all superintendent duties, supporting all aspects of field operations.
  • Enforce and model company safety procedures; lead by example and participate in all training programs.
  • Manage and maintain project schedules (CPM) to ensure timely, cost‑effective completion.
  • Review and interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and submittals from pre‑construction through project turnover.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel, including assistant superintendents, foremen and crew members.
  • Coordinate and direct field construction activities for utility‑scale solar projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and design standards.
  • Oversee and manage multiple crews and subcontractors across various sites and regions as required.
  • Ensure that all work meets or exceeds specifications and quality control standards.
  • Order and track materials, tools, and equipment in coordination with procurement teams to prevent delays.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation: daily reports, time sheets and work orders.
  • Lead and attend pre‑job, progress and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Support site teams with RFIs, submittals, commissioning and startup testing; ensure timely project close‑out and owner acceptance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact safety, schedule or quality.
  • Serve as Solv Energy’s on‑site liaison with owners, subcontractors and internal departments.
  • Promote and maintain Solv Energy’s culture of teamwork, communication and accountability.
  • Lead and coordinate all electrical subcontractors, testing agencies and commissioning teams.
  • Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a high standard of electrical safety.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and civil teams to ensure a well‑run, successful project.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ field construction experience at a supervisory level; 10 years preferred, with extensive electrical construction experience.
  • Utility‑scale solar construction experience strongly preferred (minimum 5 years).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE and other relevant codes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
  • Proven problem‑solving abilities and a strong sense of urgency in project execution.
  • Prefer 5 years’ experience with medium‑voltage (MV) testing and terminations.
  • Prefer experience with SCADA systems in solar or electrical applications.
  • STSC Certification (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction) or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of PV solar systems and DC cable systems.
  • Proficient in underground electrical installations, including cable pulling through conduits and bores and direct‑buried AC/DC feeder installations.
  • Experience with inverter skid underground installation, setting, terminations and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Compensation Range

$107,757 – $140,084 (salary)
