Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Calgary, AB. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax-related activities, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage general ledger accounts
- Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with personal and corporate tax preparation and filings
- Conduct financial analysis and provide internal support
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including:
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- General ledger maintenance
- Experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Preparing financial statements
- Account reconciliations
- Solid knowledge of Canadian tax preparation and compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial management systems
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and team interaction
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or currently working toward CPA is considered an asset
- Salary: CAD $50,000 – $60,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
