Description
Located out of our Calgary office, the Internal Audit Student reports to the Manager, SOX Compliance and Internal Audit and supports the compliance group goals, within the Center function.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Coordinate the key controls walk-throughs with external auditors and the internal compliance team to support the annual internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) program
• Assist with the coordination of the quarterly internal controls (SOX) certification
• Document processes using flowcharts, risk and control assessment, and testing supporting the internal audit and internal controls programs
• Assist with other administrative duties associated with the annual SOX program
• Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Skills and Experience
• Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Co-op or Internship program
• Pursuing a master's or bachelor's degree with a major in accounting
• Preference will be given to students in the 3rd or 4th year
• Oil and gas experience would be an asset
• Previous experience using SAP would be an asset
• Mid-to-high-level understanding of accounting and audit concepts would be an asset
• Attention to detail, superior organizational skills, critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to multi-task required
• Ability to work independently and cohesively in a team
• Ability to work in a fast pace and timeline driven environment
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Teams) required
Hours
Monday-Friday 8 hours/day. 10-month term April 15, 2026 - January 31, 2027
As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
