NGL Marketing Accountant

Our client is seeking a Marketing Accountant to join their Marketing Accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting liquids marketing activities through accurate accounting, financial reporting, and collaboration across multiple business functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, marketing experience within oil and gas or midstream operations, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

• Prepare and record monthly liquids revenue calculations and related journal entries
• Collaborate with Marketing, Production, and Financial Accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting of liquids pools and marketing transactions
• Support monthly reporting processes, including estimate-to-actual analysis, accruals, and inventory reporting
• Assist with the integration of new acquisitions and dispositions into marketing accounting systems and processes
• Perform account reconciliations, including verification and recording of 13th-month adjustments
• Respond accurately and efficiently to internal and external audit requests
• Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Marketing Accounting function

• 7–10 years of Marketing Accounting experience within an intermediate to senior oil and gas producer or midstream organization
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• CAPPA certification and/or CPA designation considered an asset
• Strong understanding of liquids operations and marketing arrangements, including EPSTA, inventory accounting, fractionation, and hedging contracts
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND functions, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and collaborate effectively across teams
• Experience with BI Cubes, Metrix, Petrinex, Open Invoice, or EKA invoicing systems is considered an asset
