Position: Accountant for Manufacturing Plant
Enhance financial management at a manufacturing plant as an Accountant in Calgary. This position focuses on financial reporting, cost accounting, and billing processes to support operational decisions.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller and Plant General Manager, the Plant Accountant oversees all financial functions including month-end close and variance analysis for engineered wood products. This role is instrumental in managing cost structures, ensuring strong cash flow, and developing effective vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting processes, analytical skills, and experience in a plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct month-end close activities, including journal entries

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports

• Improve costing structures for manufacturing efficiency

• Manage accounts receivable and optimize collections

• Support payroll processing ensuring compliance

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience

• Expertise in cost accounting and full-cycle accounting

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience with ERP systems preferred
