Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is a midstream provider with pipelines and gathering facilities across Western Canada. The Marketing Business Unit (MBU) directs strategic marketing, trading, and market development. The Marketing Accounting team seeks a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to manage full‑cycle accounting processes, accruals, invoicing, and reporting for NGL marketing.
Responsibilities:- Produce, validate and support monthly accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Oversee end‑to‑end invoicing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and design solutions.
- Standardize work products and maintain documentation.
- Coordinate with Marketers, Risk, Middle Office, and other functions to resolve data discrepancies, system issues, and commercial settlement inquiries.
- Serve as a financial data steward across SAP, Right Angle, Blackline, etc., ensuring consistency and process improvements.
- Design and execute accounting processes that may be complex, judgmental, or manual.
- Ensure compliance with Pembina’s Accounting Policies and support internal and external audit programs.
- Collaborate with multiple groups to increase reporting automation and efficiencies.
- Build strong working relationships and maintain open communication across Pembina’s units.
- Support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
- CPA with external audit experience (public accounting firm preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of experience, recent marketing accounting or financial reporting at a midstream organization.
- Experience with IFRS 15 Revenue.
- Experience in Right Angle is a significant asset.
- Familiarity with SAP and BPC is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication of technical accounting requirements.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, curious, and tenacious.
- Self‑motivated, able to work under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and team‑building skills.
- Commitment to dynamic problem‑solving.
Flexible Work Standard: eligible employees may work remotely on Fridays.
