Inventory Analyst – Fuel
Responsible for the daily balancing of inventory at Sunoco’s retail, cardlock, and commercial locations within an assigned region, ensuring recorded inventory matches physical inventory and that monthly reconciliations are completed in accordance with company policies and controls.
Responsibilities- Inventory accounting and reconciliation.
- Weighted Average Cost (WAC) analysis.
- Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including recording transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Perform daily inventory balancing between JDE system calculated inventory and physical inventory measured at each location.
- Analyze daily inventory imbalances, investigate root causes, and take corrective actions to ensure accuracy in JDE and surrounding systems.
- Respond to client inquiries in accordance with the hydrocarbon accounting Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Collaborate with finance cross‑functional teams in Business, Operations, and Optimization to continuously improve processes, tools, and models.
- Support the organization in responding to internal and external audit inquiries.
- Complete month‑end reconciliation process and shrinkage reporting, including corresponding journal entries, reconciliation of physical to system, and ledger to sub‑ledger.
- Support the region’s SME in compiling key performance indicators such as inventory imbalance and shrinkage analysis and provide narrative context.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management, economics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast‑paced accounting environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and ability to thrive in ambiguous conditions.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of complex data to investigate root causes.
- Capacity to work under strict deadlines and handle competing priorities.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Capability to develop relationships across divisional lines and foster collaborative problem‑solving.
- Adaptability to a continuously changing environment.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team.
- Working knowledge of JDE (JD Edwards) Enterprise One, DAS8, Spreadsheet Server, PowerBI, Allegro, One Stream, SAP, and PDI.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
