Specialist in Accounting

Position: Specialist in Compensation Accounting Needed
Join CPKC as a Specialist in Compensation Accounting and enhance your skills in payroll and financial reporting. This role supports operations across North America’s largest transnational railroad.

Reporting to the Manager of Compensation Accounting, you will manage intricate accounting tasks directly linked to payroll, benefits, and financial analysis.

Your role is integral to period-end close processes and ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. Working closely with various departments, you will play a pivotal role in achieving accurate financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage recurring accounting and reporting activities

• Collaborate with teams on information flow for reporting

• Conduct journal entries and reconciliations

• Analyze financial data monthly and quarterly

• Liaise with auditors and address their queries

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of 3 years in accounting with payroll experience

• Familiarity with US GAAP is a plus

• Experience with ERP/SAP systems

• Strong detail orientation and teamwork abilities
