Sr. Financial Accountant

Interpro Pipe and Steel (part of Orion Steel Group Canada Inc) is seeking a Sr. Financial Accountant to join our team at the Calgary plant.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for monthly accounting close processes.
  • Prepare journal entries including accruals, fixed asset depreciation and other necessary entries.
  • Conduct analytical analysis as required.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, analyzing balances and ensuring accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Record intercompany transactions, ensuring all accounts are in balance and prepare monthly reporting packages.
  • Assist with ensuring that adequate internal controls exist and are maintained.
  • Assist external and internal auditors in the performance of year‑end and interim financial audits/reviews.
  • Provide ad‑hoc reporting to support operations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with various teams within the organization, including the management team.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Canadian Professional Accountant designation preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing industry and/or cost accounting.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Suite with advanced or expert level skillset in Excel.
  • Experience with ERP required; experience with Oracle or Hyperion systems desirable.
  • Self‑starter with initiative to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and analytical skills; results driven, accountable and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Pro‑active spirit, team‑oriented, collaborative working style.
  • Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting would be beneficial.
