Cost Accountant

Position: Cost Accountant at Inter Pipeline
Join Inter Pipeline as a Cost Accountant in Calgary and contribute to optimizing financial insights in the energy sector. This role supports financial analysis, accounting, and reporting of polypropylene and feed stocks.

In this role, reporting to the Senior Manager, your responsibilities will focus on monitoring feedstock costs, analyzing manufacturing expenses, and providing insightful reporting. You will assist in budgeting, participate in product development, and promote continuous process improvements in cost accounting. Collaborating with various teams, you will play a vital role in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end accounting and analysis of inventory

• Ensure accuracy of financial data within reporting deadlines

• Analyze product variances for purchased and manufactured goods

• Prepare annual budget and forecast for feed stocks

• Present monthly performance results to leadership

Requirements:

• CPA designation required

• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience

• Experience in manufacturing accounting preferred

• Strong understanding of SOX compliance

• Proficient in SAP and Power BI an asset
