Accounts Payable Accountant

Launch your accounting career with PETRONAS Canada as an Accounts Payable Accountant in Calgary on a temporary contract. This role focuses on invoice processing and SAP reporting within the oil and gas sector.

As a new university graduate with a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, you will support a full-cycle Accounts Payable team. Your responsibilities include verifying invoices in Open Invoice, preparing journal entries in SAP, and resolving vendor payment issues. Engage with stakeholders while identifying process improvement opportunities in the team workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify, index, and code invoices in Open Invoice

• Prepare journal entries and reporting in SAP

• Resolve vendor invoicing, credits, and payment issues

• Elevate information to the Supervisor, Accounts Payable

• Identify process improvements for the team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Knowledge of Open Invoice and SAP is an asset

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

• Motivation to work autonomously and accurately
