Join a small upstream oil and gas producer in Calgary as an Operational Accountant for a 12-month contract. This in-office role focuses on crucial accounting tasks to support financial operations.

The client is seeking a strong Operational Accountant to manage month-end accruals and operational accounting. With at least three years of experience in upstream oil and gas, you will handle budget reviews, compliance with JV agreements, and capital expenditures. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end accruals and accounting tasks

• Analyze operational accounting, including JV and capital accounting

• Allocate costs to various projects effectively

• Review JV agreements for compliance and adjustments

• Communicate regularly with operations and field staff

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years in a similar accounting role

• At least 3 years upstream oil and gas experience

• Background in smaller companies is preferred
