About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, driving process improvements, and mentoring junior staff. You will report directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Perform monthly bank, general ledger, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries
  • Process cost transfers between projects
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals
  • Support internal control improvements and process efficiencies
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff
  • Cross-train on multiple accounting functions for vacation coverage
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned by the Controller
Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred)
Experience:
  • Accounting: 3 years (preferred)
  • Construction industry experience: 3 years (preferred)
Language:
  • English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or actively working toward CPA (strongly preferred)
Skills &

Competencies:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis)
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Explorer ERP is a significant asset

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
