We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst who will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insights into the company’s financial performance. This role plays a key part in supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, financial analysis, and audit preparation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO?- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, using Excel, in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform detailed variance analysis of income statements and balance sheets to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement and accurately communicate findings to senior management.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and posting accurate journal entries, including accruals, while ensuring all financial data is complete, accurate, properly documented, and compliant with accounting principles.
- Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records; investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances promptly.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring alignment between general ledger and bank balances; investigate and resolve any discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare GST remittance reports, ensuring accuracy and timely filing in compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including accounting, finance, and other departments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial information.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; working towards CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related roles; experience in the real estate industry is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software, with YARDI experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software, preferably YARDI, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, UNIQUE, FILTER, VSTACK, IFERROR), and the ability to troubleshoot complex workbooks; experience with data modeling, Power Pivot, or VBA is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), with proven ability to prepare, review, and reconcile financial data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting complex financial data, identifying trends, resolving discrepancies, and providing insights to support business decisions.
- Effective communicator, skilled in presenting financial information clearly and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and navigate multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
