Accountant GMS Finance Team

Position: Accountant Role with GMS Finance Team
Become part of the finance team at GMS in Vancouver Island as an Intermediate Accountant. This role focuses on financial accuracy and supports essential accounting functions.

As a member of Slegg Building Materials, you will maintain financial records, assist with reconciliations, and ensure compliance with established accounting policies. Your responsibilities will also include preparing journal entries, handling expense reports through Concur, and collaborating with other departments to resolve financial queries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough bank reconciliations across multiple accounts

• Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

• Prepare Eco Fee remittances with supporting documentation

• Participate in internal and external audit processes

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data management

• Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
